Title: Parish Office Administrator
Description: We a presently seeking a skilled Office Administrator to manage the office duties within a local Lutheran organisation in Palmerston North. The current administrator has decided to move on after a dedicated 13 years in the role so we are currently looking to fill this very rare position within the Parish! This is a permanent part-time role working 20 hours per week from Tuesday-Friday 8.30am-2pm with a 30 minute lunch break. You will be the sole office administrator but will have the support of the Pastor and the Children's Ministry Worker. Your responsibilities will include managing all typical office administration tasks such as opening/closing the office, responding to emails, maintaining a tidy office, ordering stationery and following good record-keeping and filing procedures. This role also involves Parish-related work including, but not limited to, preparing weekly powerpoints for church every Sunday, completing Parish bulletins and distributing paperwork as required, preparing the church for any funerals, and completing tasks asked of by the Pastor. To be successful in this role, you will ideally: Have an understanding of the Lutheran Church and be able to support its ethos, Be a skilled administrator looking for a long-term role, Be comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint), Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly manner, Be able to pass a Ministry of Justice criminal background check (essential).
