Title: Production Supervisor
Description: Brand new plant and role! Experienced people manager, excellence in production and process. Our client operates as a unique "gate to plate" quality FMCG producer and distributor in the fresh produce industry. They are a dynamic, privately-owned business that is highly recognised within the produce industry as having strong, highly regarded brands. It is brand-focused and customer-service driven. They are looking for a dedicated Production Supervisor for their new, purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility just outside of Palmerston North. This senior, autonomous and hands-on position is responsible for overall site management including efficient and timely manufacture of products as well as leading a motivated and enthusiastic team that is inspired to achieve challenging targets to meet consumer demand. You will be in charge of maintaining a safe workplace and an environment of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have an impeccable background in improving and driving production performance within a FMCG environment and have a thorough understanding of production management concepts. Key responsibilities for this role include: Planning and coordinating supply, production and preparing product for delivery Ensuring compliance with all safety initiatives and processes including in a critical control environment Continuous support and implementation of all quality and food safety management systems Proactively implement process improvement initiatives for the plant Lead and develop staff Manage and motivate performance in individual and group KPIs Meeting strict targets, analysing and reporting on process improvements Constantly refining and trouble-shooting on a daily basis to ensure progress Managing rosters and staff training The successful applicant will have: Experience in production management within a FMCG environment A background in fresh produce would be advantageous Strong, motivational leadership ability and people management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills A clear continuous improvement mindset Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices. Experience working hands-on and operating machinery Have experience in food hygiene, food technology and/or QC Computer literacy An appreciation of vegetable products Detail focus and problem solving skills The ability to work calmly under pressure The ability to multitask and prioritise This is a great career opportunity our client is growing quickly and building upon their strong position in the market place.
